🌱 KYF Leads the Green Charge on Mazingira Day

During the 2025 Mazingira Day, Kenya Youth Federation (KYF) joined hands with key stakeholders at Alliance High School to plant 2,000 assorted tree seedlings, marking a strong commitment to environmental conservation and climate action.

Representing KYF was the Secretary for Environment and Agriculture, Hon. Maxwell Okochi, whose presence underscored the federation’s dedication to sustainable development and youth-led environmental initiatives.

This impactful exercise brought together partners including KCB Bank Kenya, Global Peace Foundation, the Presidential Fellowship under GPF, Chandaria Foundation, Kenyatta International School (KIS), and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), among others, all united by a shared vision of a greener and more sustainable Kenya.

Each tree planted was more than just a seedling in the ground. It was a statement of responsibility, a step toward restoring degraded ecosystems, and a symbol of hope for future generations. As climate change continues to challenge our environment, initiatives like this remind us that solutions begin with collective action.

For KYF, environmental sustainability is not an event but an ongoing commitment. Through tree planting, awareness campaigns, and youth-driven green programs, we continue to empower young people to take the lead in protecting our environment and shaping a sustainable future.

Mazingira Day served as a powerful reminder that the responsibility to care for our planet lies with all of us. And as these trees grow, so too does our resolve to build a cleaner, healthier, and more resilient Kenya.

We invite all young people to join KYF through our official website and be part of a movement that is not only planting trees, but growing a legacy of impact.
