Kenya Youth Federation (KYF) was privileged to be part of the Nation Health Summit held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), themed “Towards a Healthier Population: Innovating to Accelerate Achievement of Universal Health Coverage.” This impactful event, organized by NTV Kenya and co-hosted by NACADA, brought together health professionals, policy makers, civil society, and youth representatives to explore strategies that promote wellness, prevention, and equity in healthcare.
For KYF, participating in this summit was an important step in advancing our mission of empowering youth, women, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and marginalized communities. As an organization committed to social transformation, KYF recognizes that good health is the foundation for meaningful empowerment and sustainable development. Without a healthy population, efforts toward leadership, entrepreneurship, and economic growth cannot thrive.
The summit provided an opportunity to engage in high-level discussions on how Kenya can achieve universal health coverage, particularly through innovation and inclusive approaches. NACADA’s presence added an important dimension to the conversation, addressing drug and substance abuse as a key threat to youth health and national progress. Their mission to foster a drug-free society deeply aligns with KYF’s ongoing work in schools and communities to raise awareness and equip youth with the tools to lead productive, healthy lives.
KYF believes that empowering youth to take charge of their health is essential for building a strong and resilient nation. Our presence at the summit reaffirmed our commitment to integrating health education and wellness into all our programs. From menstrual health and reproductive education to mental health awareness, substance abuse prevention, and environmental cleanliness, KYF is taking a holistic approach to ensure young people are fully prepared to contribute to a healthier Kenya.
As we continue to expand our reach across the country, we remain focused on collaborating with stakeholders who share our vision of inclusive development. We thank NTV Kenya and NACADA for recognizing the role youth play in health advocacy and for providing a platform to shape solutions that truly serve all Kenyans.
