On Thursday, 31st July 2025, Kenya Youth Federation (KYF) held its first-ever Youth With Disabilities (YWD) Virtual Conference, themed “Breaking Limitations.” This powerful event brought together hundreds of participants from across Kenya and Africa in an impactful, thought-provoking conversation aimed at dismantling stereotypes and creating pathways for inclusion, visibility, and opportunity for young people with disabilities.
The conference was a monumental success, and we take this moment to sincerely thank our event sponsors, particularly the Crystal Asige Foundation, whose generous support helped bring this vision to life. We also deeply appreciate MUSK College for their vital contribution and belief in youth empowerment and disability inclusion.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our inspiring guest speakers and panelists; among them, Jagero Oduor, Julius Mbura (Julio), Patricia Mativo, Maina Karanja, and the CEO of the National Youth Council (NYC), Ms. Gloria Wawira. Their stories, insights, and leadership sparked important conversations and challenged the narrative around disability in our society.
Special appreciation to our moderator, Ms. Mariah Kinjanjui, for steering the dialogue with passion, clarity, and purpose.
To every young person, advocate, ally, and professional who joined the conference, asked questions, shared stories, and stood in solidarity, we thank you. Your participation made this not just a virtual meeting but a transformation. Together, we truly began breaking limitations.
KYF: A Modern Force for Youth Socioeconomic Empowerment
Kenya Youth Federation continues to rise as a dynamic, inclusive, and transformative Organization committed to changing the lives of young people from all walks of life. From disability inclusion and environmental advocacy to entrepreneurship and leadership development, KYF is building a future where no youth is left behind; regardless of ability, gender, tribe, or background.
A key pillar of this success is our growing partnership with the National Youth Council (NYC), whose support and collaboration have made our mission stronger and more inclusive. By working together, we are shaping youth-led solutions, influencing policy, and promoting equal access to opportunities across the country.
What’s Next?
This conference was only the beginning. We are committed to ensuring that disability inclusion goes beyond events, into programs, institutions, and national development frameworks. KYF invites all individuals, organizations, and institutions to walk with us in this journey of empowerment without discrimination.
Let’s continue breaking limitations, together.
