In our continued mission to uplift and empower young people across the country, Kenya Youth Federation (KYF) held a high-level strategic meeting with Mr. Karis, the CEO of Fanikisha Microfinance Bank, to discuss practical ways of addressing youth unemployment and promoting entrepreneurship.
The meeting, held on 20th June,2025 in Westlands Nairobi, brought together members of the KYF National Governing Council and Fanikisha’s leadership to explore sustainable, inclusive solutions for youth economic participation. Discussions focused on how access to microfinance, savings, and financial literacy can help young entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses across both rural and urban Kenya.
Strengthening Bonds Through Impact
As part of the visit, KYF officially presented a Certificate of Recognition to Fanikisha Microfinance in appreciation of their sponsorship support during the World Menstrual Hygiene Day event held at Ngunyumu Primary School in Korogocho. This gesture celebrated Fanikisha’s role in promoting dignity and menstrual health among school-going girls in underserved areas.
A Shared Commitment to Society
Mr. Karis expressed his appreciation for the recognition and confirmed Fanikisha Microfinance’s commitment to supporting KYF’s youth-focused initiatives through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) platform. He emphasized that Fanikisha believes in giving back to society and sees partnerships with youth-led organizations as a key step toward lasting community impact.
Looking Ahead
The KYF-Fanikisha partnership will focus on:
- Supporting youth-led social initiatives through Fanikisha’s CSR
- Exploring joint financial literacy campaigns for young people
- Facilitating access to business loans and mentorship for youth entrepreneurs
- Partnering in future KYF events and empowerment programs
This collaboration is a bold step forward in ensuring that young people not only gain skills, but also access the financial tools needed to succeed.
KYF is proud to work with institutions like Fanikisha that believe in creating opportunities, restoring dignity, and building a stronger, self-reliant generation of young Kenyans.
